Bit of a scare with Momster...

Post by Peggy »

I just got back from Mom's and spending the afternoon in emergency with her. She had difficulty breathing last night and waited until this morning to tell John what was up. He rushed her in to emerg and they did some tests and gave her morphine. She's in excruciating pain. They ruled out heart problems, lung congestion, and blood clots. Ends up she has a wicked virus in her chest wall. She's going to be okay, but wow is she hurting.

I'm exhausted after driving out there (almost an hour) in the snow and slush with my neck killing me and being all tensed up, especially having to share the road with a bunch of huge semis. I'm very glad I went to spend the time in the hospital with her, though, and stayed until she was home safe with a nice cuppa tea I made her.

Now it's time for me to have a tea and come back down to earth.

Love to all

Poor Momster! Chest pain is certainly scary. Did they give her an antibiotic, or do those not work against viruses? Hope she is feeling better. You, too, Peg! You get a gold star for making the trip. :butterfly: Well I couldn't find a star so you you get a butterfly. It has some gold in it.

Oh Peggy...how scary! I'm glad they were able to figure-out the problem....take care of yourself too!

We had some snow here this morning too...not much, but there was slush on my car. The pass was closed for a while, but with chains on the bus, we made it up to the kids' snowboarding lessons...just a little late...20 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours! I didn't ski, but will have fun up there this weekend!

Say hi to Momster for me if you talk to her..TTFN....JJ

So glad it wasn't anything to do with the heart but I know it's difficult to deal with anyway. I hope she will respond quickly and not hurt for too long.

Also, hope you have been able to relax by now and give your poor neck a rest.

Hi Pips,

Thanks for the information. You're a first rate kidster, and I'm sure Momster realizes that.

Here are some of those gold stars that Kathy couldn't find, (they are kinda easy to overlook).

Hi Peg,

So sorry to hear about Mom but she sent me an e-mail re: the hospital trip. I feel like a smuck since she was feeling so poorly and still diligently working on my beaded owl. I was in no rush. Please tell her to take it easy and stop pushing so.

Love, Maggie

Oh my, Peg.

You must be exhausted. I am so glad to hear that it is not more serious but sorry that Momster is in such pain. Morphine! It must have been excruciating. Please give her my best vibes and get well wishes.

Take it easy today, you two. Doctor's orders!

Love,

Polly

You are such a good daughter, Peg. I hope she's out of the hospital soon, and out of pain, too.

Kathy - she has to see her regular GP and I think antibiotics will be in order. They gave her a prescrip for T3s and Naproxen in emerg.

Jill - Sure I'll say howdy for ya! It snowed all night here, but wet, mushy stuff that isn't stickin too much. Hopefully the skiers got it better in the mountains.

Shirley - yep, r&r is on the roster for today. I'm sure for us both.

Tex - thanks for the stars. Sometimes I go crosseyed trying to find a particular smiley!

Mags - she had your owl done already and was giving instructions to hubby John to get the parcel out in the mail. I saw a few she's made and they are wonderful!

Polly - yes ma'am!

Oma - thanks :pigtail:

Hugs all

Oh boy -

I'm glad Momster is okay - and Pegster is such a good kidster to be a caregiver(ster) while still in pain herself! I hope you *BOTH* have quiet, calm and restful weekends - and let's hope that's it for ER visits for your family for awhile!!!
