This Dang Weakness!
My biggest problem right now is the weakness. I almost passed out coming in the back door earlier. If my husband hadn't been behind me, I have no doubt I would have gone down. What is good to eat for just a quick energy boost. I came in, collapsed on the couch and had hubby bring me a bottle of Gatorade. I know that is not kosher, but I just had to have something and it did seem to help. Of course it is really hot outside but I just came from the car to the back door and this weakness if always there and seems to be getting worse.
Same here,
Energy was one of my biggest hills to get over in the beginning....eating protein, have a drink of Almond milk. I have a mini lunch bag that I haul around with me and it has little this and that in it that I know I can grab anytime I need a pick me up where ever I am going - it has minimal ingredient Oberto beef jerky mini packs and fritos and a coconut bar in it. I take an insulated water bottle with me everywhere too.....even in my own back yard ;-)

Thanks girls. I do find that I am hungry constantly. Always nibbling on something. What kind of coconut bar? Would that be something that would be "safe" for me at this stage. I love coconut! I love fritos too but don't know at this point if corn is safe for me. should be receiving my testing kit from Enterolabs this week. Getting ready to make myself a rice bowl with ground beef and some veggies for supper. And yes trying to drink a full glass of water every time I walk into the kitchen and also keep a glass by my chair in the den.
My house is suffering. I may have to get someone come in and give it one good cleaning and then maybe I can keep up with it for a while once its really clean.

Hi Kathy,
Maybe....in regards to the coconut bar as this brand is ZING and it is a Coconut/Cashew minimal ingredient but who knows how you react to cashew and that will be part of your Enterolab results. It may also have too much sugar content in it for you to process well if at all at this time. This would be one of those testing foods down the road I imagine.
Yes....ALWAYS hungry my first two years of healing, my bone broth soups were my go to just to make sure I got enough liquid with good stuff because I couldn't drink very much water, it didn't taste good and my colon didn't hold it very well for a while until I got some good healing under my belt. I probably did my body a dis-service by drinking soda with all that HFCS and that probably led to my worsening of candida yeast but everything about this MC takes a journey to get thru and then things start to click into place even if life is 'different'.
Eat your rice bowl with meat and veggie over and over and as often during the day as you need to when you are hungry, this will help you to weed out any irritant in those basic foods before you allow yourself to move forward with a new ingredient

Oh gosh I just ate and then came back and read you suggestion about putting coconut oil in it. Why didn't I think of that. I browned the meat in a non-stick skillet and didn't even use any oil. Dumb me. But I made a big batch and will add the coconut oil to whats left of it. I have taken to baking a red potatoe in the microwave but not quite done. Then I slice it and fry it in coconut oil. Really good! I am going to try a sweet potatoe tomorrow.
Erica you're probably right. I will hold off on the coconut bar.

Kathy,
You're not by any chance diabetic, or pre-diabetic, are you? If not, I have noticed that if I eat a snack consisting of only carbs (no protein), a few hours later I tend to develop hypoglycemia symptoms (which may make me light-headed) until I eat something. I'm not diabetic or pre-diabetic. I make it a point to always eat some protein whenever I eat any carbs, and that eliminates the problem.

Thanks Tex. I will definitely keep that in mind. I've been eating a handful of dry Rice Chex as a snack sometime because its so easy. I will start replacing that with a protein instead. As far as I know I am not diabetic. I have had a LOT of blood work done lately and assume they have checked that. I see kidney dr tomorrow. I will ask her about it. She will be going over all my tests results tomorrow as well as doing a scan of my kidneys. It just seems strange to me that I am so weak considering I have not had any diarrhea for almost 2 weeks. But I guess it just goes with healing process.

Yes, be sure to discuss the weakness with your doctor because while MC is associated with decreased energy (the immune system uses most of one's available energy fighting the inflammation), it shouldn't cause extreme weakness, other than the weakness associated with fatigue. It might be difficult to distinguish between them, though.
