Saw my kidney Dr. again last Thursday. Just got a call from her. In addition to kidney damage and dehydration, the urine culture she took shows I have a bladder infection called Klebsiella pneumoniae. I have more than 100,000 whatevers of this bacteria so we have to treat it. I have to take an antibiotic which scares me to death because I had cdiff last summer which was brought on by an antibiotic. I will also have to take pro-biotics along with the ant-biotic to help guard against the cdiff. I sure don't need cdiff on top of MC. Worried about what the antibiotic will do as regards to the MC also. Getting old is definitely not for sissies.

Hi Kathy,

You know, a few years ago, the same thing happened to me — over a 100,000 Klebsiella count on a urine culture. But fortunately the doctor suspected that the sample or culture might have been contaminated, so we did a repeat test. The second test was negative, so that was the end of that.

That is so interesting Tex because she first did the test when I was there a couple of weeks ago. she told me Thursday that it was positive but for some reason that I didn't understand she thought it was contaminated. So she reran it and called today and said it is well over 100,000 so we have to treat it.

Also she told me my magnesium is 1.9 which is fine and its ok to keep taking my magnesium supplements. What is normal for magnesium?

So he called in an antibiotic call Marobid. One of the side effects can be mild diarrhea. Oh Goodie!

Hi Kathy,

Well from this description below, it appears it is a lactose-fermenting type bacterium...I have my suspects about it but I don't have enough time to research it at the moment, due to it containing the word lactose my guess would be a bad dairy driven bacteria.

Klebsiella pneumoniae
Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative, non-motile, encapsulated, lactose-fermenting, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped bacterium. It appears as a mucoid lactose fermenter on MacConkey agar.

I would take my antibiotic and I would also take this http://www.rxsilver.com/index.htm so that you can be extra sure to be rid of that bacteria. I'm having such outstanding results using it along with KAL Saccharomyces Boulardii I can't even begin to fully describe every little detail it has been helping.

My daughter just posted another 4 week update on its use of her acne and after using the gel externally and the solution internally she has just about rid her face of the bacteria that has haunted her since puberty. I almost cried when I saw her update, I am getting my little girl back

Why I suggest this is because it will increase the effectiveness of the antibiotic and if you continue to use it after the round of antibiotic it will keep removing the bad bacteria from your system. I have been using it now for almost 4 months. Also by adding the S Boulardii it is a natural plant probiotic and it is easier on the gut I have noticed than the regular probiotics on the market.

Erica thank you thank you. I have S boulardii on hand but its Jarrow brand. I'm assuming it will be ok? I wasn't going to take it because I've read on this forum that it can have constipating effects and I am somewhat constipated. Although I am having daily movements but they are small and hard. But I HAVE to take something along with this antibiotic and the S Boulardii is suppose to also be the best at preventing cdiff from returning. I am ordering the silver right now. Thank you again!

kathy if you have reduced the budenside dosage and constipation is easing then taking the S Boullardi should be ok

of note, coconut oil is anti bacterial
further the best thing to assist bladder infection and constipation is to increase water intake - lots and lots of water....

Gabes-Apg
Thanks Gabes. I keep a big tumbler of water next to my chair. I read your post and then reached for my tumbler. :) I'm bad about putting it next to me and then forgetting to drink it, as if just having it sitting here helps me. But I really am trying. I think I am getting at least 60 oz a day.

So you're saying the coconut oil might help with the UTI as well as the MC then? I'm trying to incorporate as much as I can into my diet.

I have been thinking my skin feels a little less dry lately and wondering if its due to the coconut oil.

the skin
it would be a combo of things - minerals and nutrients from bone broth, being less dehydrated, oils, body having less inflammation etc

Wow! That's a lot. Why is drinking water so hard for me? Some times I just feel like I can't swallow anymore. But I will keep at it. I know I need it.

Hi Kathy,

I have a hard time with water also....so don't forget if you drink coffee, or almond milk those count towards liquids and daily amounts also....in order to try to drink better I will dash my water with a bit of sea salt, or squeeze a dash of lemon and honey or even stevia in it....not much just enough to get a hint of flavor because too much citric acid or sugar is not my friend either.

Cold water doesn't set well in my stomach either, it stops my digestion from making progress, so I will sip cold things but that usually doesn't get me anywhere very fast so ice-less water or drinks are best.

I agree Erica about the really cold water. If I'm really hot from being outside, I can drink several ounces of refrigerated water at once, but otherwise I have to to do cool not cold water. Thanks for those tips. Maybe I will try lemon juice. I have local honey from a good friend who has bees right here in our small town. So I will definitley try that too

It’s better not to drink cold water, or cold drinks for that matter. Better limit it as much as possible, it’s not good for the spleen.
