Magnesium question for Gabes
Hi Gabes
I have been using magnesium oil for quite some time but thought I would try taking it orally. What would you recommend? Is there something that I could buy over the counter here in Australia that won't result in D?

Hi there
Safest Aussie OTC magnesium is the ethical nutrients mega magnesium tablets.
(Not powder).
Best purchasing option is chemist warehouse/discount pharmacy
You can break the tablets in half to start low dose (and increase gradually)
The doctors best magnesium that many here use, is available from IHerb. I purchase from IHerb every couple of months and they are fantastic. They have lots of mc safe bathroom products so I have no issues building up my order to $55, to get free Aussie post delivery. Which comes within 7-8days.
(They also have the enjoy life chocolate that is gf, df, sf, and it is cheaper via IHerb than any Aussie online seller. )

I take Drs best, but probably not enough as I have bad leg and foot cramps at night. I use Ancient Minerals Mag spray before bed, but again probably not enough. I, to be honest forget to take the Mag, so I got 3 out this morning on the counter, so I will have 300 mg today.Gabes-Apg wrote:Hi there

I like enjoy life chewy chocolate bars, and have tried their cookies too!
Thanks Gabes for all the information you and this forum provide.

Gabes,
Are you still a proponent of oral ReMag? My RBC mag was lower than I expected a couple of weeks ago and lower than it had been a year ago. I sent a post about this. A year ago I was using oral ReMag. Additionally, I have been having some reflux symptoms again. Anyway, I have started oral ReMag again in addition to 300 mg of Doctor's Best. I started slowly with 1/4 tsp in water for three or four days and now have taken 1/2 tsp for three days. My relfux seems better already or else i'm just having a good day.
You used to use it, as I recall.
Thanks,
Susan

Susan,
I have never used the Dr Dean ReMag product.
For the first 3 years I used mostly topical magnesium (mostly spray but also foot soaks) and the ethical nutrients product mentioned above.
I have used a high, potency liquid similar to the ReMag product that I got via my local practitioner.
I have only used this in small amounts. Majority of my current magnesium is via topical and foot soaks.
Hope this helps.

Hi Susan,
I thought I could use the ReMag to its fullest extent, but I still can't get past 1/8 to a 1/4 teaspoon and I have to add some salt. So needless to say I don't do it often, but if I get a mini migraine or more stressed area of life, or cramping I will drink a water with it occasionally. I like the lotion A LOT so that is my go to direct to site pain reliever and I don't have to worry about it even thinking about doing anything to my intestinal area.
