Once again---I now-do believe that the Culturelle--does its job---
Re-updating on Kait--
If the neuro. feels that all has been done/and there is nothing else to do-
that will be that~~~~~ and home they will go--
I hope he finds it necessary to re-do all shunt work~~~
And could I get Kait yesterday--NO--*lol*---when we called her friends were over and happy birthdaying---
Called later on and Kristyn was on the for 2 hours talking with her boyfriend!!!
When we finally got thru both Lynn and Kait were asleep @ 9:30 pm!!!
So we this morning---got Kait but she couldnt talk cus her tutor was there!!!
A quick and she hangs up---
Good thing I have a sense of humor---

OMA-----thanks---
I am over the *hurt* with Kait----I will be honest and say that
I do believe her attitude has been inherited thru her fathers ways--
Last year,in one hospital, she totally ignored me,playing on the puter--until I closed the top and had an UP FRONT TALK with Kait---
She just stared me *down*????
So goes life-----yup we surely do learn as we *mellow* like fine wine--
Hear anything about the job??? Or did I miss a posting on anything?

Mrs. Columbo,
I'm glad to see that you're feeling better. I hope that Lou is doing better by now, too.
Was that 9:30 pm Mountain Time, or Eastern Time? 9:30 in Arizona would be 11:30 in New York.
I know how frustrating it can be at times, trying to talk with someone, and constantly running into a roadblock of one kind or another. Actually, though, I'm sure you realize how wonderful it was that Kait was "busy", yesterday and this morning, 'cause that's the way kids are, especially these days. They've constantly got something going on.
The fact that Kait is so busy is great, because it means that she's leading as much of a normal teenage lifestyle as she can, under the circumstances. She's naturally going to be short on time, as far as social contacts are concerned, because she's forced to spend so much time in the hospital, that she just doesn't have anyway near as much free time available for other things, as the rest of us do. Also, you and I both know that when we are teenagers, we tend to take our relateives for granted. It's an unfortunate fact of life.
She spent her 17th birthday in a hospital bed, if I recall correctly, so it's no wonder that it would mean so much to her to be able to spend some time celebrating her 18th birthday with her friends. To be honest, if I were in her shoes, I wouldn't have time to talk on the phone with my grandmother while that party was going on either, because I would figure "Hey, I can talk with relatives almost any day, but I haven't been able to celebrate a birthday party with my friends in years".
That doesn't mean that she doesn't love you more than her teenage friends, it's just a logical way that people think, (especially when they're caught up in a birthday party). As far as the tutor is concerned, I'm sure that he/she charges by the hour, so Kait didn't have much choice there. She had to get back to work.
All in all, I'm thrilled to see that Kait is able to spend some quality time in normal teenage pursuits. Heaven knows she deserves a break now and then, from her almost constant hospital stays. I'm also very glad to see that she's continuing her education, even though she's having some very serious health issues right now. I suspect that a lot of us would be overwhelmed by all that, and wouldnd't be able to stay nearly as busy as Kait. We would probably be sitting around most of the tme worrying about what was going to happen next. Kait is obviously a self-starter, and she'll go far in this world, once the doctors finally get her neurological issues under control.
Thanks for the update. That made my day. I was afraid that she was sitting around lonely and feeling sorry for herself on her 18th birthday. Obviously, she and her friends are way above that, and are going for the gusto whenever they can. Good for Kait, and good for her friends.
Luv,
Galahad
P S I'm sure you're right, about her being influenced by her father's behaviour. She would have to be from another planet to not be affected by that.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
