Struggling
Hi everyone,
Reaching out to the community again since I’m not doing that well and feel a bit hopeless.
A few months ago I moved from China to Thailand (for a year). This move has not been that great for my gut. I was taking 1 entocort every other day prior of moving to Thailand. With ok bowel movents (not perfect all the time). In Thailand I had to go back to 1 entocort a day and it’s going downhill. Most of the days I have mild D (only 1 or 2 bowel movement a day) and maybe once/twice a week a somewhat solid stool.
Yesterday I skipped the entocort dose to see what would happen. Well today I have watery D and saw for the first time undigested rice in my stool. Or at least I hope it’s rice
My diet consists mainly of meat (chicken and pork) and rice with some over cooked veggies (pumpkin, green beans, sweet potato). For supplements i take 5000 D3, 2 magnesium glycinate pills, and 1 sublingual b12/p5p/methylfolate a day.
I am thinking of cutting out the rice for a while and exchange it with potato to see what happens. I lost about 5 kilos again and feel a bit hopeless at the moment. Also thinking on going back on the full dose of entocort from tomorrow. Getting really tired of this..
Any suggestions would be welcome!

Hi Henry,
Try stopping all supplements for a couple of days to see if one of those might be the problem.
It appears to me that persistent relapses are almost always due to stress, and they're tough to overcome. The stress of the move probably had a lot to do with your relapse. I agree with you, you might have to go back to a full dose of budesonide for a while in order to get your system to "reset".
Brandy has demonstrated that during a persistent relapse, it may be necessary to stop all supplements, even when they are quite safe, normally.
I hope this helps.
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks Tex! I already decided to stop taking the supplements today. I took two entocorts today, one in the morning and one after the watery D. I think I need to go on the max entocort dose for a week or two to get this under control. But I will give it a couple more days on 1 entocort, without supplements and over over cooked food..

My thinking is increase bacteria /parasites in water supply
What you are showering in, cleaning teeth with etc.
You gut biome is not geared to cope with it.
I will write more later. (Running late for work).
But you may want to consider things like cholestramine that will help MC and parasite issue,

Low zinc allows parasites to increase in the gut.
Colloidal silver will help bacteria wise.
There are lots of available options, keep in mind, none are quick, it will take time.
And it will take a combo of things to deal with parasites, bacteria, viral biotoxins.
The other aspect, if it is humid and there is mold around, this would be increasing histamine as well.

It's interesting that Tex said persistent relapses are due to stress! I agree with that in my current situation.
Henry, you and I seem to be in the same rice-and-meat-with overcooked veggies boat, except I have never taken a med for my LC. I'm thinking of trying entocort if my diet doesn't resolve my symptoms soon. I wish I had something helpful to tell you, but I don't since I'm right here with you.

If anyone is in an area with extra outdoor heat like we have right now in the Pacific Northwest (East side of state) that has contributed to my fairly normal stool one day and then bathroom trips that aren't so agreeable for a day or two with undigested food too and then back to fairly normal again. It is a Yo-Yo affect for me ever since the heat became considerable say mid July, and that is when my histamine ramped up a bit too, and had to start taking an antihistamine during the day. So far none at night yet.
I bring this up because I have not changed anything in the way I eat, not even my supplements. So it doesn't hurt to back off supplements, it may help to not over tax the gut until it can calm down. If I don't get decent sleep (meaning staying cool enough to actually sleep) the night before my gut has issues in this heat also.

What combo of things would you advise?Gabes-Apg wrote:Low zinc allows parasites to increase in the gut.
