Refried Beans

Are refried beans easier to digest than whole beans? Or is the fiber still too much for an MC gut?

Hi Kathy,

Refried beans are almost surely easier to digest, but the main problem with beans (regarding MC) is that they are a legume. I don't recall whether you are sensitive to soy, but most people who are sensitive to soy are also sensitive to most legumes.

That's a solid positive result. "Solid" meaning that it's high enough to remove any possibility that it might be a false positive result. That doesn't imply that you are sensitive to all beans, but you are probably sensitive to some types.

Thanks Tex. I hate that because in the winter time one my favorite things to cook and our favorite things to eat is a big pot of pinto beans with cornbread. I will miss that. :sad:

Winter is at least 3 or 4 months away. By then you can test pinto beans to see if they are OK. You may be able to tolerate them just fine, especially if you don't eat them every day.
