What constitutes improvement?
Hey everyone!
I've been going up and down as of late, but I think I'm more on the up-side of things. When I first joined, I was only having diarrhea and bad days. However, now I think I'm starting to heal, but I need clarification from people who have healed too.
I started seeing a dietician about two months ago and she wanted me to try a low FODMAPS diet but with some modifications to fit my CC, and it's actually been working for me! I've found a few safe foods thus far. I can eat duck eggs either fried or hardboiled, good quality chicken strips I make myself, small amounts of rice, salmon, and sardines in olive oil. My bowel habits have been slowly improving in that I actually can pass gas now without it being wet or diarrhea. When I do use the bathroom, I can see that my feces are all strips or they are whole instead of water. Rarely, they are softer and sit at the bottom of the bowl instead of clouding it up and making it brown. This is all really new to me and I actually FEEL a lot better too. My stress has gone down and I'm not as dizzy after using the bathroom. I also have been using nuun tablets to keep my electrolytes up.
I tried baby bananas last week but I immediately felt like there was a hole in my stomach after eating one, and I'm not sure why. I tried another one the day after and the same thing happened. It's very strange. No more of those for me. Lol. I also have found that most grains and seeds are a no-no as of right now. I may try them later but I really need to get my inflammation under control.
That being said, it's cool to feel somewhat normal again. Is there anywhere I could go from here or just keep doing what I am doing? I would love to have some opinions.

You are definitely on the right track. Congrats! I think getting started on diet changes is the hard part. Just add things in a planned, systematic way and you may be able to increase your diet some. Sweet potatoes are usually safe and a nice change from bland stuff, for example.
(Btw- I had that dizziness too. Hated that feeling!)

Thank you, everyone! It's really dang hard, I'll tell ya that much. (Wish I could say the same for my stool...) Sorry, had to throw that Wednesday humor in there.
I really can't believe I used to eat all of the junk I did versus what I eat now. I've been doing low FODMAPS for most things but following what my own body tells me like avoiding gluten, dairy, etc. and it works out nicely.
I've been thinking of upping my magnesium next through more veggie intake like spinach. We'll see how it goes.
