Hi, Tex. We have been okay. I was panicky about two weeks ago when the water was filling my sump pump, but we didn't take any on. There has been so much devastation, though. I feel so badly for the victims when I watch the news. The rain isn't over yet, we're to get more through the weekend. I think my county was leading in the amount, something like 47 inches so far this summer! Thanks for thinking of us!

That's the low that finally brought us slightly over an inch of rain almost a week ago, so you'll probably get about 10 inches out of it. I hope you get a lot less than that, of course.

The central part of our state has really suffered. They are delaying school openings due to flooding.
I’m just west of central PA, and we’ve had a LOT of rain, but it’s been stretched out through each day.
It’s a tropical atmosphere.... very humid....not an enjoyable August at all!
How are things in the West? I heard that you’re dry.

Thanks for the update. The weather for our two areas is quite a contrast — the main question that comes up in conversations around here is "When will this drought end?"
We've had 12.70 inches of rain so far this year, following an unusually dry fall and winter. 
I hope PA gets to see some normal sunny weather (without any rain clouds) soon, before summer is over.

It's rainy & in the 70's today with more rain expected this week. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that summer is almost over and we haven't had more than one or two nice weekends all summer. I like the four seasons, but summer is my favorite and always the shortest one!

Yes, it has definitely been a wet and humid summer here in SouthCentral PA.
I was happy to see the 70-something weather here today, still not much sun but hopefully the heat and rain will continue to ease up on us.
Overall, no catastrophes for me personally, though area rivers and others in the low-lying areas have experienced a lot of flooding and water damage.
I hope you see some improvement in your drought conditions there in TX soon!

I haven't been on for quite a while. Been awfully busy. I have truly been blessed regarding the flooding in PA. It was quite bad around here and I was very concerned (since last year I always am when it starts raining hard) but my creek behaved itself quite well. Problems all around me but I escaped any real problems. We've had so much rain that the ground is still pretty muddy in spots. They finally did finish my bridge (lost it last year) and my property has been on the market for about a week and a half. Had one showing last week and the people are coming back tomorrow. They have a house to sell themselves so I'm not too excited yet. If they ask me to sign a contingency offer, I don't think I will because that puts your property in limbo until the time is up as far as I can tell. Anyway, I just wanted to let Tex know that I didn't have any flooding problems this year (at least so far).

Regarding the contingency offer: My brother is a realtor, and property is still a fairly hot item (down here, at least). He seems to have pretty good success with contingency offers for his clients. (But that's because property is moving well). If the potential buyers are willing to give you what you want, and their own property appears to not have any major problems (clear title, not in a flood zone, etc.), waiting a reasonable amount of time might be a prudent choice, But of course that depends upon the details — as you are well aware, the devil is in the details.
One never knows — someone may turn up tomorrow with cash in hand. Or not.

I appreciate the advice, Tex, and in other circumstances I'd probably take it but as you said, the devil is in the details. 
Property is not moving as well here as it is in other parts of the country. I have seen their house on Zillow and they are asking way too much (even after coming down once already) so I don't feel at all confident that they will sell it anytime soon. It has already been on Zillow for 217 days. If it weren't for all those reasons, I'd probably go for some kind of contingency deal but since I truly want to move as soon as possible I prefer leaving it on the market for now. A contingency contract would cause it to be either "off market" or "pending" and people don't really care to investigate those houses in my opinion.
If it doesn't sell and they do get to sell perhaps they will come back but I don't want to put myself "on hold" to accommodate them when I feel they have to come down in their price to have a good chance of selling.
I will be checking in here as I can. Next two days are going to be hectic for sure.
