Hi Friends,
I'm back because of flareups that started with eating some bad mussels a few months ago. I was diagnosed with LC in April of 2014, so more than 4 years ago and had settled in with one or two usually loose poops per day after a lengthy period of working diligently with my diet. Now I am easily flared to the most watery of watery and take Pepto to calm the disturbance for a day or two. I'm looking for a good alternative medicine doctor or even allopathic doctor in the Portland Oregon area, since it feels like I need additional support. I have a very broad spectrum of food sensitivities according to an Enterolab test 3 years ago. In other words, there wasn't anything on the list that I wasn't sensitive to. My willingness does wear thin for me especially in social situations. I just can't get away with much at all these days. I suspect leaky gut issues..... Thanks, Pat N

Looking for an Alternative Doctor in Portland Oregon
LC diagnosis on 3/31/2014
Hi Pat
Sorry to hear of the flair. Unfortunately, the only naturopath we have listed for Portland is:
Dr. Steven Sandburg-Lewis
Address: 2220 SW 1st Ave, Portland, OR 97201
Phone: (503) 894-9118
Here's a link to a recent podcast by him:

He's been a naturopath for at least 30 or 40 years, and he seems to be focused on SIBO these days. I don't know how well he does with MC, but someone here recommended him years ago.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I am from Portland and Dr Sandburg Lewis was who I saw in 2014 and he helped me a lot. He is on Macadam I believe. I work in Tigard and now see Dr. Renee Schwartz who is in Tigard and she is excellent. Hope this helps and good luck to you.
