Hi Nancy,

Thanks for your note! I'm doing well. I'm very happy with my GI doctor and also have an acupuncturist and a functional medicine doctor all in Boston.

Despite changing my diet dramatically, I still struggled with symptoms. I've been on Entocort for almost a year and would still flare every time I tried to get lower than 6mg. I'm also on a few psych meds which complicated the picture. So my doctor and I decided to try some other medications. It wasn't an easy decision to make. I tried methotrexate for about 6 weeks, but had too many side effects. In mid August I started Humira. I saw results almost within a week of starting the Humira! It's certainly not a smooth road to recovery but things are headed in the right direction and I'm feeling very pleased and relieved.

I hope you're doing well. I find acupuncture to be so helpful -- even with sleep and stress, although my acupuncturist explains that it does help with overall inflammation in the body.

Take care,
Lisa

Lisa,
I am happy to hear that you have found some good help in Boston. And, it sounds like quite a variety. It's trial and error, isn't it?

I agree about the acupuncturist. She can tell immediately when I am "off" and sets me straight again. That is why I continue to go once a month. She can treat a multitude of issues at the same time. I remember when I was at my worst and so nauseous that my husband had to practically carry me in. That was my first visit and it really helped me to believe in all they can do. I have been going for about five years now.

I am doing well, eating most everything except of course gluten. I try do eat things in moderation and just pray this good run lasts for a long time.

Nancy
