Have any people been tested for SIBO as well as all the tests to confirm microscopic colitis? I am seeing a dietitian who unfortunately like most of us have noted very few have a clue about microscopic colitis. She is not well informed about MC, but seems insistent that SIBO testing should be done.
Feedback on this form others who might have been tested would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
Jeanne
Also, I am new to this site and although Tex responded about how to send a private message, I am unable to find the option on the message I received that says PM. So much to learn!!

Sibo is very common for anyone with IBD's.
And lots of functional practitioners test for it. My observation of people here, if you follow the eating and lifestyle plan we encourage for MC management plan, the sibo will resolve.
It does not need 'seperate' treatment.

I agree. As long as your MC is active, you are almost surely going to have SIBO because of the poor digestion. Treating it is usually a waste of time and effort because it will come right back in a week or so. When you get your MC under control, the SIBO will resolve automatically.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
