Constipation
So here is a brief history that all will find familiar. LC diagnosed two years ago after 4 years of undiagnosed giardiasis. I did take a couple of courses of steroids with non lasting results. Dietary restrictions in place and have also seen a naturopath with long lasting results. Unfortunately the lasting result is constipation! Who would have thought, right? I drink plenty of fluids. My diet is quite varied despite the restrictions. I exercise regularly. I added Mg glyc. to my regimen. I don't want to toss myself back in the wrong direction. What is the thought on adding docusate to my supplements??

Do not add fibre type items -as this tends to bulk up the stool and make it harder to pass.
What works for most MC patients with constipation
- increase water intake.
- increase intake of safe oils ie coconut etc and fatty cuts of meat.
- oral magnesium
- peeled Apple, eaten slowly. Small amts.
Keep in mind that as you start these items they can take 24-48 hours to work. Be patient and allow them time to work. Don't rush to have mega doses of magnesium. Work up slowly.
Water and oil are best options.
