Been in remission for two years thanks to the help of this board and Wayne's book. However, I have just had my first out of remission experience and am getting back to the basics. I recently saw a post on a FB page that referenced taking L-Glutamine for MC but can't seem to find it addressed anywhere on this board, though I may be looking in the wrong place Any advice, opinion, help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

If you do a search of the archives for L-Glutamine you should find many posts about it. Be sure to mark the "search for all terms" box. The bottom line seems to be that some members feel that it's helpful, and others don't feel that it helped them. My personal opinion is that it probably won't help most MC patients for the simple reason that it's claim to fame is based on helping to repair smooth muscle tissue, and the inflammation that causes MC does not penetrate deep enough into the intestinal lining to cause any damage to the muscular layer in the intestines. It should help for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis though, because they do cause damage to the muscular layer of the intestines.
But this is just my opinion, and it's not backed up by any published medical research.
