Tex's first book on MC

Post by humbird753 »

I am part of a group with others who have MC outside of this forum. I was surprised when a member said her GI recommended she read Tex's book on Microscopic Colitis. I am referring to the first edition. This member is from Kentucky. I told her she has a good doctor and should stick with him, as it sounds like he's thinking outside of the box.

I just wanted to share this GOOD NEWS! Hopefully more doctors will do the same.

I have a GI Dr. who knows I am on this forum and told me to take all the help I could get for this disease. He doesn't poo poo anything. He knows it is diet controlled and is willing to listen to anything I say and helps me with his knowledge and weaning off my steroid.

Congratulations, Janie! It sounds like you have a good doctor as well. I've asked the other gal if she'd give me the name of the doctor, and his location, so I can post it here to be added to the "recommended doctors" list that is here. It's good to share this information with others so they know if there is a doctor in their area who has somewhat of an understanding of this disease.

I thought I posted the following maybe a half an hour ago, but I'm not seeing it, so am posting again.

Tex, the following is the information of a doctor who is recommending your book to her MC patients. You might already have her on your list of recommended doctors. If you don't, you may want to consider adding her.

Dr. Kathleen Martin.

Hi Paula,

Yes, she's already on the existing list. But many thanks for your efforts. We need all the help we can get.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
