Ringing in the New Year

Post by Marcia K »

Happy New Year, friends! I live in PA where it's customary to have pork & sauerkraut to bring luck in the New Year. I'm afraid to eat sauerkraut and I don't eat pork often but I'll be making a pork loin tomorrow and have a few strands of sauerkraut. I can't break tradition! I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, healthy 2019! You are the best!

Happy New Year Marcia! It is customary here to have ham and black eyed peas. I can do the ham but black eyed peas have too much fiber! I may eat a couple! Hope you are doing well! I had company for a week and we all survived on my cooking. You can have company and eat simply.

Will be having ham and black eye peas with collard greens tomorrow. And cornbread. Need to cover all the bases for good luck and riches for the coming year!

:happynewyeartext:

The weird thing is that this my anniversary date for when I first got really really sick. It only took two trips to the ER in 3 months to later find out it was not food poisoning, but something much worse...MC. But I have survived thanks to all of you beautiful potty people! Love and hugs to you all.

Thanks, Jari. I am doing well. That's awesome that your company ate like you do. I've always made something separate for myself when we have guests for dinner. That's going to be one of my goals for 2019!

You're covered for the New Year, Erica! I hope you're feeling better.

LauraAnn, my dad is from VA and your meal sounds similar to what they will be having there. He went along with the pork & sauerkraut when he relocated to PA, but he loved black eyed peas.

Happy New Year, Kilt & everyone!
