i just wrote this reply to you in Erica's post regarding the raisins etc
Dorothy
there are a few reasons why dried fruit are not the best option in the early stages of healing
- they are high histamine
- they are too fibrous
- the sugar
- citric acid etc

please please try to stick with well cooked proteins and 2-3 safe veges....

this disease doesnt have to be complicated, it can be way less complicated if you stick to the eating plan we suggest.

Food doesnt have to terrify you - it can be your friend, the right foods have amazing healing ability.
we dont need professionals - all the knowledge we need is here, and in your circumstance even if you had 20 MC Professionals around you, ultimately healing and getting better is up to you. acceptance, sticking to the eating plan we recommend. well cooked proteins and 2-3 safe veges.
and TIME - time and patience to embrace the eating plan, stick with it, and be positive about it.

wearing depends, having accidents does not have be day to day life for ever. symptom free life is worth the effort.

Hi Dorothy,

Yes indeed, this disease is not for the faint of heart. But life becomes much easier when we adopt a strict diet that is safe for us and we stick to it come hell or high water — no experimentation until we've been in stable remission for many months or years.

The immune system can't be trusted when it's riled up. It's so sensitive that it may react to almost anything. After our gut heals, and our immune system begins to settle down, it's much easier to get along with, and it may overlook a few of our very slight mistakes that it would never overlook when it's hypersensitive.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
