Hi Jean, How's the new Bird Doing? I should say you're new baby. They are like children. At least Mine was. He used to take his cup and run it along the bars like a prisoner in a b grade movie til I would let him out. And I had to padlock his cage...he could open it otherwise. :flyingdoveleft: He used to like to swoop down at dinner and steal what was on your fork. Especially if it was a pork chop. And he loved steak sauce. Well, I was just curious how the new feather baby was doing. Love Oma

 Your brid's antics had me laughing out loud, Oma. I'll bet you really missed him.

Thanks for asking about Alex,

He's doing well. His last owners taught him to scream, that is, they must have only paid attention to him when he was loud by picking him up or yelling (which he repeats verbatim). I'm working with him, but unfortunately, Dave is not happy with him.

The bad news is that I've found him a new home, the good news is my sister is taking him! I won't really be losing him and he will probably not notice the change much. My sister looks so much like me that my daughter couldn't tell us apart when she was 8 months old! I have to admit, she might be a better parent for him then even me. She stays at home and is great with pets, she spoils them.

Sorry I didn't answer this before. Dave's father passed away last night. He was 90. We got the call to come to the hospital at 7:00am. Though he was old, we didn't expect this and certainly didn't expect it to be so fast. He played tennis a week ago! He had aneurysms that started to leak. I didn't believe the doctors when they told us he had less than 24 hours, but they were right. He was lucid until the last 3 hours so we had time to talk to him. Now I'm worried about Dave's Mom. I plan to spend a lot of time with her then next year.

Love, Jean

Oh, WoW, Jean. That was a shock. I'm sorry. When you aren't prepared at all it is bad. Well, it's bad either way.

Bless you for caring so much about his widow. It's really tough to lose a mate no matter what the age. My Mom seemed to start falling apart when my Dad died. Seemed like she was just holding herself together for him.

I'm glad you'll still be able to see and play with Alex.

Jean...so sorry to hear about your loss, but so glad you had time to be with Dave's dad before his passing.

And....I am so glad your sweet bird will have another home in the family.

Take care...you have had a lot going on in your life lately....Love, Jill
