Probably, but not all of us are sensitive to the casein in dairy. Only about 70 to 75 % of us are sensitive to casein, so you might be one of the lucky ones.

Hi Rudi,
Brandy here. Good news about the GF. I had dairy(yogurt) while I was on budesonide until about 6-8 weeks before I got off. If you can't tell about dairy consider ditch the dairy 6-8 weeks before you plan on getting off of the budesonide.
Speculative on my part but I believe ditching the dairy when getting off of the budesonide will increase
your odds of no relapse. Then you can retest dairy after you've been off of budesonide for awhile.
OR....since about 70-80 percent of us react to dairy just ditch the dairy now and I believe you will feel even better.
I recommend the Califia almond milk after trying most on the market. I also have coconut milk yogurt.
I was in denial about dairy and still eating yogurt. Once I ditched the yogurt all of the gas that I had went away.
Keep us posted on how things are going.

It's the casein (the main protein in milk) that's the problem for most of us. We're all also lactose intolerant when our intestines are inflamed, but that resolves when the inflammation is resolved, so the main problem is casein, and casein is in all dairy products. Lactose-free milk might work while you're still on budesonide, but after you wean off, whether or not you react will depend on whether or not you are casein intolerant.
Try Vanilla-Flavor Almond Milk. I like it better than cow's milk. Or, you might prefer Cashew Milk, Hemp Milk, or Rice Milk.

The diet is not likely to heal your gut in a few days — it takes a few months for most of us. It does sound like you might not have been ready to reduce the budesonide dose to one capsule so soon. Most of us would need to be on the GF diet for two or three months before reducing the dose to one capsule per day.
If you're looking for another food to avoid, most of us have to avoid everything derived from soy. Some of us are also sensitive to chicken eggs.

this type of reaction is very common amongst MC'ers
when you remove an item (like gluten) that is a major trigger, after removal you have improvement and then the immune system gets more triggered by another item (maybe it is dairy, or soy, or eggs, etc) then someone removes this item, there is improvement and days/weeks later symptoms return
that is why with the guidelines to recovery stage 1 eating plan we encourage people to remove all the common triggers. it minimises this 'roller coaster' of good days and bad days

I am not sure that Hair Anaylsis is viable way to test for food allergies
the reason why
- for the toxins to get through the digestion system, blood, cells etc and end up in the hair takes A LONG TIME
(where as the poop testing by Dr Fine is more accurate as it is in the 'first stage' of the inflammation
- I have done Hair analysis for toxins/minerals etc and a high or low result can mean many things because of the long time factor
here is a previous discussion about allergy testing and link to an article
