Ordering turkey

Post by ldubois7 »

Hello!

My area doesn’t have non soy turkeys products available.

Does anyone order clean turkey products online?
(I think Jean used to get meat sticks from someplace???)

I’ve been eating ground turkey from a farm about an hour from my home, but they do feed the turkeys soy, and I can’t always get there to purchase.

I need allergen free everything! 🙄

Thanks!
Linda :)

I haven't ordered any turkey for a long time. When I did I ordered From US Wellness meats. This is how they describe their ground turkey

"We are thrilled to offer Pasture Raised Ground Turkey again! The ground turkey is sourced from Broad breasted white birds. The birds are pasture raised without the use of antibiotics. These turkeys enjoy a diet of non-gmo corn and non-gmo soybeans. They are never given any added hormones or drug treatments."

So it is definitely not soy free. They do advertise soy free chicken.

If ground turkey just says "turkey," can you trust it? Ingredients - Turkey. No antibiotics, 100% vegetarian diet, no artificial ingredients. It's GreenWise, bought at Publix. Would you say this is safe? Dorothy

Dorothy,

Based on that label, I'd say that no soy was added during the processing, but the birds might be fed soybeans.

Jean,
I ordered the turkey from Wellness meats. Hopefully, it’s well tolerated. I’ll be raising my own turkey this year. Thanks.

Dorothy,
I avoid ground turkey that lists rosemary extract as an ingredient (which is all I have in my local grocery stores) because they use soy oil with the extract as a preservative.
