The folks at the Flyertalk forum, Italy subforum, where to dine in venice subforum encouraged
me to eat like the Italians do. Breakfast, one meal and one snack. This was a very helpful
concept as I figured I could do leisurely midday meal in restaurant and then a snack in the evening
which is what I ended up doing.

Eating in the middle of the day worked out great as we got to rest our feet and get a break from the
heat. In the evening I would usually have a snack of banana, nuts and some GF crackers from
a local market.
