california olive oil is no longer californian
California olive oil has now become a blending bottler. Label on front says grown globally crafted in
California. Label on back says grown in California, Argentina, Chile and Portugal. They are buying bulk
oils and bottling them now in California and growing some in California.
After about 20 minutes reading labels at Publix I found Lindsay olive oil. Ingredients: 100% Extra Virgin California Olive Oil, price is reasonable. I'm trying the Lindsay olive oil.

Re: california olive oil is no longer californian
Thanks for this Brandy. I just checked my California oil and yes, it says "grown globally". I wonder if they check it for purity. I'll be looking for a substitute.brandy wrote:California olive oil has now become a blending bottler. Label on front says grown globally crafted in

Check on Lindsay.
I bought a bottle but have not tried it yet. I stumbled upon it at the local grocery.
Their website will give you a zip code search.

I live in a small town so not always well stocked with everything you big town folks can get. According to the website the only 2 stores in my area that carry Lindsay products only carry some foodstuffs like olives but not the oil. My food coop where I shop has a wide selection of olive oils and I am sure I will find something else suitable there but it is bound to cost me more.
I stumbled upon this testing site.

Jean, I think you will be fine with the bottle that you have. I've used an entire large bottle
of the blended California oil without knowing it and had no issues.

Above is list of olive oils (not US) that pay to be tested yearly as a part
of random testing to certify that they contain only olive oil.
This gives us more safe options and affordable.

Came across this and thought you all would like to check it out. Use code YAY15 for as 15% discount if you decide to buy. I don't know anything about the oil and I've never used it but I thought it's a good option for those of you looking for California olive oil.
