Polysomnography, is it good to do it or not?

Post by DonPapotti »

Hi good day. Has a polysomnography been done?
Did it serve you something or is it just something theoretical and "inapplicable"?
I already know that it is necessary to have hygiene of the dream, avoid coffee, etc.
Thanks in advance

Hi Don,
I’ve not had a sleep study done. There may be others here who have and if so, hopefully they’ll weigh in. My husband had to have a sleep study for his sleep apnea and that proved to be immensely helpful in diagnosing and treating his apnea. Before treatment he was so tired he’d get sleepy while driving short distances, so it was to the point where poor sleep was having a significantly negative impact on his daily functioning.
Are you wondering if improved sleep will help your microscopic colitis?

Best wishes,
Carol

Hi. thanks for answering.
Yes improving the sleep improves everything logically.
And apnea is treated with a mask according to what I read, is it true?
I apparently do not have apnea ... but I do have a deviated septum and it can take less oxygen to the brain and body.
