Anyone on Prescription Pancreatic Enzymes?

Post by brookevale »

I have been on Entocort for a few months and started having normans. Unfortunately I continued to lose weight even on a very restricted diet and was becoming emaciated. I have had pancreatic and biliary issues in the past and have been on Creon--prescription pancreatic enzymes. My doctor recently increased my dosage and I am finally gaining some weight. I was wondering if anyone on the forum had success with pancreatic enzymes for gut healing. I am curious as I felt like my gut would never heal but now have some hope. Thanks!
Strongly believe I have a form of MC that began to flare December 27, 2013.
44 year old married mom to three sons ages 26, 17, and 2, a 21 year old stepdaughter, and 18 year old stepson. I also have a beautiful granddaughter who is one.

Hi Brooke, It's a shame that no one answered your question about Creon (pancretic enzymes) back in 2014. I am new here and just scrolling the threads so if you happen to see this reply...FYI, I have just been given some samples of Creon by my GI to see if it might make a difference with my MC. So far, no change in amount of D and stomach discomfort for me but the sample dose is lower than what she said she'd prescribe for me. I was wondering if you took Creon and if you found it helpful. I too have some hope as I can't take Entocort which is bad for my osteoporotic bones.
Chronic IBS-D with urgency, stomach distress, gas and bloating. Microscopic Colitis. Diagnosed by breath testing with Fructose Malabsorption and SIBO many years ago. Went on Low FODMAP diet for 3 years with variable success.
