Thanks for the suggestion Tex, I'll try that if this go around with what I have doesn't work. I was going to take a pill last night at bedtime, but decided I needed a good night's sleep, so put it off. Now I'm thinking that I'll cut the pills in 2 and start with a low dose and see how that goes. It has been quite a while since I tried it, so there may have been enough healing since then for tolerance to have built.

Love,
Kari

I have swung over to constipation without taking any Pepto or Immodium or other meds. I’m not sure if it is part of MC or that with the flare going away the lack of fiber is causing it. I don’t want to introduce fiber in my diet as I am fearful of going back to the bid D! Is taking Miralax a good idea? I know that I need to increase my water intake as my body doesn’t register thirst!

Hi,

This disease can cause all sorts of symptoms for some of us. Not everyone has D. Back when I was still reacting, I had alternating D & C, on about a two to three week cycle. Some members here have only C.

Miralax should be a safe remedy. That is to say, it shouldn't antagonize the MC.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
