carbs and extreme fatigue

Post by Eugenia »

not sure my first post went through.
Where do you get your carbs, what do you do about exhaustion - mornings are very bad, after noon better.
I have had mc for years but this is the first time I have felt this way and still on a series of budesonide. Help if you have any suggestions

Welcome,

If you don't already have Tex's book link is in the upper right hand corner. It is recommended.
It is the only book on MC in the world.

Carbs: rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes,
overcooked beets, overcooked carrots, overcooked turnips, overcooked rutabagas
bananas

Some of the above linked carbs may cause fatigue. Corn and rice caused more fatigue in me.
This is individualistic.

Fatigue: Budesonide can cause fatigue, Fatigue is linked to MC until you get in remission

Eliminate gluten, sugar and dairy, they will cause fatigue and prevent remission

Some of the carbs will cause fatigue, more protein and less carbs will = less fatigue

If you have solid stool you can try Methyl Guard plus. This will help with fatigue. Do not take with WD.
I felt better after 8 weeks of taken Methyl Guard plus. It is not a fast fix but it is absorbable B's that
work better for us.

It took about 2 years when I got into remission for the fatigue to go away.

If you have had MC for years take a look and a read at our success stories. In particular take a look at JFR's success story.
She suffered for decades but was able to get into remission. Set a goal to work towards going into remission and the fatigue faded away for me once I was in remission.[/u]

Eugenia,

A couple of other things that helped me. Also fatigue was one of my main MC symptoms. I was able to WD under
control in about 8 weeks of diet. Getting rid of the fatigue took about 16 months.

1. breakfast-eat protein only snack-eat protein only; lunch, protein, fat and a little carb; snack, protein fat and carb;
dinner eat protein, fat and larger portion carb

This helped so that I didn't have fatigue during my work day.

2. Next blood work--check your iron and ferritin scores. Men and post menopausal women can have low iron with MC.
