tommyboywalker,

Isn't it Liz, in Jordan, who's able to buy budesonide without a prescription?

Ingrid,

Do you have diarrhea now, or not. If you have it, I would recommend taking the racecadotril or the budesonide. I don't believe I would take both. If you don't have diarrhea now, you don't need either one of them.

I've never heard of racecadotril, but according to Wikipedia:
Racecadotril (acetorphan) is an oral enkephalinase inhibitor for use in the treatment of acute diarrhoea. By preventing the degradation of endogenous enkephalins, racecadotril reduces hypersecretion of water and electrolytes into the intestinal lumen.
I emphasized the last phrase in that quote, because that's important for anyone who has active MC. MC causes hypersecretion of water and electrolytes into the intestinal lumen. That's what makes it possible to have so many bowel movements per day, when MC is active. Supposedly, this a safe and effective drug.

Achromycin contains tetracycline hydrochloride. As far as I'm aware, more than a few people claim that their MC was caused by tetracycline, so I'm not sure that Achromycin would be safe for someone who has MC. Besides, it's for treating bactierial infections, and I doubt that you have a bacterial infection.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I believe that it was Liz (eshuler) that stated that.
