Hello. I went for my annual Gyn appointment today and my doctor said that I'm very healthy. Yep, I'm a good weight, not on any medication, I exercise, blood pressure is good, no menopause issues.....but then there's little thing called LC. Sigh. No pity party, though. I know it could be M.S., cancer or something worse. I'm very thankful for my friends on here who understand.

Thanks, Martha. It's all good - I'm alive & kicking and here with my family. Nice to "see" you again!

Marcia,

What you have confided is what so many of us know is real. MC for most of us is a life long chronic condition. But it IS manageable for many.

Yup, there are so many things that are way worse. I have two close friends that are dealing with terminal cancer.

Thanks for the reminder for us to keep "perspective"

Marcia- I know exactly what you mean. While I am not battling cancer (and thankful for that) there have certainly been times where I felt I was still in ‘the fight of my life’, battling to keep my quality of life.... or some quality of life...no matter how little. And sometimes I was just plain scared that the quality of my life would be minimal.

I have made good strides and no longer feel that fear, but agree with you both- illness of any kind just sucks. No one gets it like our friends on this board. :bigbighug:

When I first found this board I was desperate. It was such a relief just to know that there were others experiencing what I was experiencing. I thought I was all alone with this. Since I was almost entirely housebound when I found this board I was quite happy to do anything and everything suggested here and it worked. I have no desire to experiment with foods. I cook all my own foods and don't eat out. I'm used to it and it works. Nothing really to complain about. I think people get into trouble when they focus on what they can't have. One thing that helped turn my mind around to simply accepting the cards I was dealt was to stop asking myself "why me?" and turn it around into "why not me?". In fact I often consider myself fortunate for no longer being a slave to food and for learning to eat in such a healthy way. I can even consider this as gift for it has led me to a much healthier life style.
