Naturopath tretament

Post by Ingrid »

Hello everyone. I have a massive flare about a month ago. 21 times watery D. 3 days it last. Then I came to Spain fro a naturopathic treatment. The doctor is giving me injections of magnesium, vit C, b12, Among other things he told me not to eat nothing fried, not sausages, not bacon, Gluten, and Lactose free. He removed all grains and cereals. But I am losing too much weight. He mentioned that I can eat salad 3 times per week, If I can tolerate I can increased. I do tolerate them well. I am eating meat. My digestions have improved a lot, no more pain. But the big)massive stools have returned. I do not what to do. He insists I can drink goat's milk. I have not tried it yet.

Sometimes I want to comeback to budesonide as it is the only thing that helped me to gain weight. My endoscopies and colonoscopies show inflammation with lymphocites in al Digestive tract (stomach, duodenum and obviously Colon, but not ileum*

I do not what to do

Hi Ingrid,

Stop eating the salads. They are irritating your colon. We cannot tolerate fiber during a flare, and we especially cannot tolerate any raw salads until our gut heals. Iceberg lettuce is absolutely intolerable for most of us, until we heal. Why would you eat salads, anyway? There are no calories in a salad. You need calories if you want to gain weight. Eat more fatty meat. If you can tolerate potatoes, eat red or yellow potatoes, not Russets — they're easier to digest. Sweet potatoes are safe for most of us. Avocados contain quite a few calories. Coconut milk (pure coconut milk in a can, not the diluted stuff) contains a lot of calories and most of us can tolerate it.

No, your natureopath is wrong — you cannot safely drink or eat anything that contains goat's milk.

I hope this helps.

Above is the link with Gabes suggested eating plan.

Also, Ingrid, you might already have the Spanish version of Wayne's book but if not we have a professionally
written Spanish version of Tex's (Wayne's) Microscopic Colitis available. It is a great resource if you
don't already have it. I am not readily finding the link on Amazon but we can get you the link if you have
interest in the Spanish version of Tex's book.

I have already the book, and I am sure that is the reason why I have not have any constant flare ups. Just wondering if having all digestive tract with lymphocites due to MC or maybe any other condition. The major problem for me it is not the diarrea after following Tex advisement, but the weight loss. I will start consuming full fat coconut milk and try to increase calorie intake

I lost a lot of weight when I was in a flare. The first thing to remember is try to relax and not stress. When your body is under stress from the colitis along with all the worrying about weight loss made me loose more weight. Stress is not your friend. Take a magnesium bath or food soak. Focus on your breathing and just count slowly. Rid your mind of thoughts of the weight loss you will gain weight back when you are out of the flare. I just kept eating meat cooked in coconut oil 8 times a day when I could.

MC often causes lymphocytic infiltration in many parts of the digestive system. Most of us also have lymphocytic inflammation in the stomach and small intestine. That's very common.

Hi,

If you're referring to the book mentioned above, it's not a cookbook — it's a complete description of the disease and all known treatments. Here's a link to printed copies on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Microscopic-Coli ... 1732079234

And here's a link to the Kindle version:

https://www.amazon.com/Microscopic-Coli ... 0985977205

But it should be available at any bookstore, although they might have to order it at some stores.
