Good Morning
Well, it's not even 9 AM here yet and Bill (hubby) already came home from his golf league. He threw out his back (again) but I do believe it's the worst now that I've see it. He said when it happened he dropped to his knees. Never known him to do that before.
He refuses to go see the Dr. (so far). He is VERY stubborn.
He took two OTC ibuprofen and a pain pill left over from his heart surgery and is now lying in the floor in the living room.
Golden years are NOT!!!
Love, Shirley

Hi Shirley,
I used to have that problem, years ago, and what he is doing, (lying flat on a rigid surface), was the best treatment I ever found. I even put a thick sheet of plywood in my bed. Hopefully in a couple of days, he'll be much better.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks Wayne,
I agree keeping your back flat on a hard surface is the best way to go but he won't listen to me. He gets into positions that I would NEVER use when I had a backache, and he won't stay put anywhere. He's afraid it will stiffen up so bad he can't get up. I can't do anything with him. I suggested an ice pack earlier and he refused. About an hour and a half later he finally asked for one.
Barbara,
I don't think I make as good a as you.

You mean they get even MORE stubborn??????
Geoff already refuses to go to doctors. Heck he doesn't even like me asking if he's okay or feeling better when he's sick. Last week I got so worried because he tried to play a computer game when he'd been complaining about a headache. He couldn't control the mouse. Turned out the mouse sensitivity adjustment had been altered, so it wasn't him, but the poo-pooing I got from him while he was complaining of a headache, rubbing his eyes (because the computer was doing weird things)...Enough to make a girl worry.

Ouch!
Back problems suck .
My husband is like the best patient ever. He never whines, won't ask me to do things for him, goes to the doc when he has to, etc. (I figured I better throw in a good one for the guys )
Myself, I make a pretty lousy patient

Hi Shirley,
So sorry to hear about Bill hurting his back AGAIN. He is a "golf freak" isn't he? I don't play so don't understand the addiction some people have with the game. Looks like fun though.
I think I told you I wrenched my back a week before Mothers Day and my Doc told me to lie down and take it easy for a few days- I laughed of coarse because that was impossible because we were so busy at the shop that week. I had to worked long days and wore a back brace and took take pain meds for 5 days straight just to function. Now it's almost a month later and I'ts much better but still not 100%. I know, if I had been able to lay off it right off the bat it I would have recouped much quicker.
Give Bill a hug from me and tell him to listen to his nurse! Wish you could get him into the doctor to have it checked out. SIGH- or at least, flat on his back.
Love,
Joanna
