Hi Rudi,
Is it for one meal?
Or is it for like a week?
One meal...I typically eat before I go and ask the hostess if I can bring a dish to share due to my food sensitivities.
Then I eat my dish at the meal and also share it.
One week--I typically will buy my own foods at the grocery and cook my own meals. Sometimes I'll buy a cheapo
frying pan and foil pans for my foods.
My two nieces are not GF but really eat GF and also my sister is the same so it is not tough when visiting them.

Because that's the way that the tests are calibrated for best results. These are standard ELISA tests, used by many, many labs. The uniqueness lies in that EnteroLab uses them to get maximum accuracy. He proved that the tests work when he received a patent on them. That's why they're the only lab that offers these particular stool tests. Over the years, we've found the accuracy and reliability of EnteroLab's results to be superior to any other lab in the world.
By the way, 10 is not a normal result for those tests. Normal is below 10.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi Rudi,
I took sulfasalazine before I was on Budesonide (because I took the poor advice of my GP) and it made me sicker than my LC did and had many more side effects than Budesonide. So be careful with the sulfa drugs. They come with some horrid side effects. Some people have found that taking an antihistamine is helpful when titrating off of Budesonide.
If you want to taper off Budesonide you have to have your diet cleaned up and free of your intolerances and you need to do a very slow taper....like get to 3 mg every day for 3-4 weeks, then 3mg every other day for a few weeks then 3 mg every third day.
What kind of taper schedule have you tried?
Carol

I agree with Carol. When I went off budesonide, I did a very slow taper and had totally cleaned up my diet of all gluten, dairy, and soy. I think I did 3 mg ever other day for about a week and then every 3rd day for about a month or so, and then even every 4th day for awhile until I finally just quit with no issues at all! It won't work if you haven't totally cleaned up your diet of everything that is giving you issues.
I also agree with Tex. Have you tried cutting out the soy and eggs? I had to be careful about soap I used and lotions I put on my body, etc. Everything matters.
