excessive gas

Post by vivian »

I have finally dropped down to one pill every other day and things appear to be going okay. Thank heavens, as it has been one year. However, I have excessive bouts of gas in my intestines. Usually it doesn't create issues with my stomach, again thank heavens. However, it can be rather embarrasing. Does anyone know if this means that I am not really getting better, but just getting by on the budesine (sp). Also, any beef makes things much worse. Thank you for any info. Vivian

Whenever I have gas issues, it is caused from my histamine intolerance. If you are not eating from very fresh or frozen, that could be your problem. Try eliminating eating anything that has sat in your refrig for more than one day or high histamine foods like cheese, chocolate, bananas, or dried fruits. Always freeze your foods and just defrost in your microwave. Otherwise, try taking an antihistamine. I would recommend liquid gel zyrtec to stay away from harmful inactive ingredients like dyes. It will take a couple of weeks of use to get the antihistamine into your system.

Hope this helps! So hope you can find relief soon!

:iagree: with Martha.

And I have the same problem with beef; it causes bloating, so I cut it out of my diet.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Thank you both for your information. I did start eating a little more cheese and chocolate, thinking that things were looking up. Perhaps the one pill a day was masking the issue. Beef actually causes constipation with me, so I don't eat a lot of that.
I am happy that I can look back a year ago and see how much farther I have come, so that is something. Thanks again. Vivian
