Danielle Walker - Against All Grain
Hello. I follow Danielle Walker on F.B. She has U.C. and has written several cookbooks on healthy eating. She currently is in the hospital for 14 days with a pic line. because the U.C. came back with a vengeance and she couldn't get it under control. She has three young children and it's been heartbreaking to read her posts because they couldn't visit her because they had colds and her immune system is compromised. Reading about her latest setback humbled me as at times I feel sorry for myself that I can't eat like everyone else, but I have never been as sick as she is. I have a new appreciation for dealing with the hand that I've been dealt. It really isn't such a bad hand after all when I compare it to others. Wishing you all a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
Marcia

I've never made anything from her website but it all looks good.
I think she had a pretty serious UC flare several years ago and went back on the UC meds for awhile.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Above is her post about fighting a flare in 2016.
She has UC but her notes at the bottom of her thread listed above would honestly
help any of us.

Hi Marcia,
Thanks for posting that information. I totally agree with you. Compared with so many other's situations, this isn't bad at all. All I have to do is eat carefully, and everything is fine. I view my stroke recovery the same way — I was (and still am) mighty lucky, and I'm grateful for that every day.

Brandy, I have her first cookbook Against All Grain, and the recipes I've made have been good. The chocolate chip cookies are the bomb! Thanks for sharing the links.
Tex, I'm glad you're doing so well! You've helped so many of us and I'm thankful for you!
Happy Thanksgiving, Janie. My mom called to ask if she makes a turkey that isn't a Butterball, can I eat it? She wants so badly to make something that I can eat so I don't have to take my own food. I told her that it's not the food, it's the people that I want to be with. She said yes and then said, "I guess." I know she feels guilty about the LC and there is no need for her to feel that way.
