Bio-identical hormone therapy

Post by Leigh »

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone is aware of, or has any personal experience of a connection between bio-identical hormone therapy and LC ? I have been using an estriol/progesterone cream(not synthetic progestin) for approx 6 years. I would certainly cease if i was certain of a connection, but I believe once you stop the therapy you cannot restart after a prolonged period.
So i would be grateful for any information or any member’s personal experience with hormone therapy and LC.

Age 50 got MC. Approximately age 52 went on bio identical therapy after not being able to tolerate PremPro. I've had no problems. I'm currently taking bioidentical therapy and am in remission.

Hi Brandy,

Can I ask what bio-identical hormone you are using? I use Estradiol and just found out it has soy in it. I noticed soy as one of your food intolerances. I just wanted to know if you were using the same.
Thank you!
Christine

I've been using the hormones for about 7 years. I don't think I could function without them. We reduced my formula about
50% 9 months ago but 6 months in I was encountering mindnumbing fatigue so we are upping my formula back to where it was.

Thank you for the reply. I have been on the Estradiol patch for 10 years and just found out after calling Mylan Pharmaceuticals that it's main ingredient is Soy. However, there is nothing on the box about any allergen to soy which puzzles me. Soy was one of the things I tested very high on for a food intolerance. I'm torn about discontinuing it's use. I don't think I could function without it either. I was just curious since you also have soy on your list if you experienced any adverse affects from it. The rep I spoke with asked if I had any issues prior to my recent diagnosis of C.C and quite honestly, my answer was a resounding NO! Actually, quite the opposite- it has been a life saver for me! I'm just trying to figure out if I should discontinue it since once you stop there's no going back.
Thanks again for your input!
Christine
