Cyclone Wati
Cyclone Wati is heading down the Queensland coast. Latest forecast says :
"Severe Tropical Cyclone Wati should now begin a southward track which will be roughly parallel to the Queensland coast The combination of the cyclone and a large high in the Tasman Sea is expected to produce gales and large seas off the southern and Central Coasts."
It is about 700 kilometres off the coast but it is not known what it intends to do at the moment. Unpredictable things, cyclones. Just hoping it stays out there & eventually peters out. Although we could do with a bit of the rain it would bring we don't want the winds & floods.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Interesting development. I'm sure you'll be keeping an eye on that sucker, for the next few days. I hope you can squeeze some rain out of it, without risking any of the bad stuff.
I notice they don't name storms down there, using sequental letters of the alphabet, the way they do here--they went from "L" all the way to "W".
Stay safe,
Love,
Wayne

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi All. Wati is still moving slowly south with no sign of coming in closer to land at the moment & is still only a caregory 3. It is still a fair way out. High, gale force winds & large waves are expected in any case. Looks like it is going to be one of those contrary ones that don't give you any indication of what they intend to do next. We don't have any problems here at the moment. Just intermittant light showers that don't do too much to relieve our drought situation & it is a trifle windy. Expect it to get a bit more hectic over the weekend even if Wati keeps the current track & does not come in any closer.
Wayne, they are usually named sequentally so I don't know why we went from L to W. Maybe it was named in another area first.
There is one they have called Floyd over off Western Australia that is doing a similar thing. Just have to wait & see.
