Fasting

Has anyone here experimented with fasting? or know of literature reporting on that?

Are you talking intermittent fasting? If so, yes, I did try it and found it not to be successful at all. There is all kinds of research out there on the benefits to the gut of eating smaller meals and so eating a huge amount of food in a short period of time doesn't usually work for us. It also triggered major binge eating for me as I felt ravenous and literally wanted to eat everything in site during my "window".

Thanks. I had in mind multi day fasting, say 7 days, or perhaps a single day. I thought giving the gut a break, giving it a complete rest, might be helpful, perhaps by an overall reduction in the microbiome inducing a new population balance, something short of a fecal implant which some on the forum find helpful.
