Hi Charles,
Welcome to the group. I never had any of these auras before I developed MC, But I'm still not sure whether they're associated with MC or not.
You should be able to reach remission without any food-sensitivity test results. Many of us use a food/reaction diary to keep track of everything we put in our mouths and how we feel afterward, in order to track down problem foods, supplements, medications, etc.
Thank you for the kind words.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.
All my best,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I have had migraine auras without headaches for several years before MC, generally once or twice a year.
For me, it is usually triggered by walking out into the bright sun from a dark building. I see jagged, geometric shapes on the outer edges of my vision. It lasts about 20 minutes. For my husband (he does not have MC) the aura usually starts after he has used a vibrating or shaking power tool. He also sees jagged, geometric shapes, but it moves across his entire eye, so he has to stop whatever he is doing until it begins to fade, usually at least half an hour.
Our eye doctor said not to worry about it unless it ever precedes a traditional migraine. It is an interesting theory to suspect that the auras have something to do with inflammation and/or MC.

Hi Tex and all, ever since an extremely stressful event, I had my first migraine with aura. During the early years, these were accompanied by pain. And always got one after a stressful event had passed; the let-down (pressure release?) phenomenon.
Now they are mostly pain-free although I feel unsettled. My father also had the same pattern with pain-free migraines as he aged.
I just began connecting this with auto-immune issues and/or deficiency.
They had been occurring spring and fall when possibly our dietary needs/demands change? Or tree allergies? Have taken magnesium for years but recently added Pure Encapsulations Zinc 15 and haven't had one yet (Pacific NW). Maybe too early fall yet; we'll see.
Your research may combine "let-down" and possibly time of year? Or the fact of change of mineral period?

I just saw this post! Wow!
I started having eye migraines a few months ago. After they subside, I do get a headaches sometimes, afterwards.
I haven’t pinpointed a source. I was thinking it was hormone and/or stress related. I’ve reduced caffeine, and they’ve lessened in number, but just had one the other day.
Very interesting to relate it to magnesium. I don’t eat anything with msg.

Hi Linda,
I believe that was the last one I've had to date. Strange.
I have no idea what actually causes them.
