Before I had posted, I had contacted CarolinaTurkey (ButterBall) directly. They confirmed 100% turkey, no rosemary or other "flavorings". I'd like to see that from them in print. But I didn't pursue it since there are other reasons to believe it is true.

Personally I'm 99% on board with their 5lb frozen chubs being extract-free 100% turkey.

The other reasons are that Carolina Turkeys 5lb frozen chubs have a nutritional label, but not an ingredients list. If it did have extracts, law would require an ingredients lis that specified it. Still, lack of evidence is not proof of innocence.

Also their 5lb chubs are a frozen product, not highly subject to discoloring to a brown from oxidation. So it doesn't actually need anti-oxidant extracts, unlike the needs of the common unfrozen packages of ground turkey.

I had a Butterball for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I read the label and it was only turkey. I WAS TRULY SHOCKED. For decades Butterball injected a lot of ingredients into their turkeys. They no longer seem to
do that. Amazing. Each Butterball came with a sealed foil gravy packet. I threw the gravy packet away.
Check the labels but Butterball turkeys now seem to be safe.
