Pain on left side

Post by ewelder »

Hello all,

I have been experiencing a pain on my left side since Friday, on and off on the weekend and steady ever since. It is on the left side about belly button hip bone level. I thought maybe it is musculoskeletal, but I can't really tell where the pain is coming from exactly. I went the FNP yesterday at our employee health clinic and she did some blood work and a CT scan. All was normal from the reports she received. The pain is relentless and uncomfortable. It is interrupting my sleep and I am not able to sleep on my back or left side due to it hurting. Any thoughts? She thought maybe it is a GI issue and told me to contact my GI doc? Anyone have such issues?

Thanks,

Eliza

If I have pain it is always on the left side. It isn't relentless, though. It's more of a slight discomfort.

Could it be a kidney infection? For lower pain, a diverticulitis issue is a possibility (in the Sigmoid colon). Diverticulitis pain can be really severe.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Before I was diagnosed and got my diet all cleaned up, I had that left side pain forever. I always rested my hand there to help subside. Once I got everything under control, my pain went away.
