Hi, everyone! I agree, this forum is a life-saver!
My story: Right after Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts, I began having WD. I was with my daughters and mom for a little getaway for her 80th birthday. It was great fun, and I ate EVERYTHING. At the time, I thought it might have to do with eating a "poke bowl", with different seaweeds and barely seared fish. It was delicious! WD continued, so went to MD. All blood and stool tests were negative. Had colonoscopy with biopsies, and 2 weeks later, diagnosed with CC. Went on Entercort, found this forum, bought the book, and dove in.
Predisposition and contributing factors: I'm 59, am an RN, have had fibromyalgia for years, arthritis, and some sort of collagen/vascular problem. Positive for HLA-B27 gene which is associated with psoriatic arthritis. I'm beginning to to think many of my long-standing issues are tied to MC. So, for the last couple of decades, I've been taking NSAIDS (aspirin & naprosyn), Prevacid, and Prozac. I've discontinued all NSAIDS and Prevacid (ugh, the heartburn) and am weaning off Prozac.
When my husband & I did an elimination diet-no soy, gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, corn or sugar, I felt good, arthritis and other symptoms decreased and I lost weight! We've done it a couple of times, with same results. I was pretty sure that gluten was a culprit, so tried to eat gluten-free bread, but I'm sure I was getting it in other things.
For the last 6 wks., I've only been eating bone broth, chicken, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, white rice, banana, avocado and the pretty tasty butter substitute I found on here.
I thought I should introduce myself before I started asking for advice, whining or ranting
Best, Lui

My Journey So Far...
Collagenous Colitis diagnosis February 2020
Hello Lui,
Welcome to the group. It sounds as though you're well on your way to recovery. And I believe that you are correct — many of us find that the proper diet (avoiding all the foods that cause our inflammation) will either resolve or at least minimize many of our preexisting autoimmune issues.
Again, welcome aboard, and as Marcia said, "Please feel free to ask anything, and/or vent freely". We all understand what you're dealing with.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
