a little update

Post by mrs h »

morning from the uk

since i was diagnosed on 24 dec 2019, and i began budesonide on 7 jan 2020 its been a bumpy ride, BUT i do believe im out the otherside,

i began to react to the 6mg budz around mid march, red sore face, bp spike, itchy skin, feeling hot constantly, breathless, exhausted, then the sore throat came...we thourght corona virus as i got a nasty dry cough, i dropped to 3mg , as i had been on them about 10 weeks, and just kept feeling worse, still thinking the virus,
on 14 april, i stopped the budz, i had started having hot sweats, and palputations and suddenly realised oh there from reacting....

i started taking 1 antihistamine for a week, keeping to my regular safe diet, still using mag lotion daily, and taking vitd/k2, i stopped all other vitamins, just kept those 2 supplements

oh wow, lightbulb moment, the nasty throat and cough stopped within the week, the exhaustion in my legs stopped,

my belly was gurgly, i was under lockdown, so wasnt going anywhere, i began to feel soooo hungry, so started to eat rice crispys, a uk cereal, with a drizzel of syrup on, no milk,

i am now 1 month today from stopping the budz, i still cant eat fish or vegetables of any kind, but yesterday i ate a tiny salad, it was my yureeeka moment, today i am fine, and back to safe foods, today i walked my dog in the countryside without fear of having an accident, and since using mag/ vit d my migraines seem to have subsided, i have no idea which if any are responsible for that.

i came back to update, and to say thankyou, for all the pages of your knowledge that i read, and learnt from, i really was on my own, no medical help, and i really was as low as i could get, im taking it slowly, but from the bottom of my heart, thankyou to everyone who has helped my recovery, lets hope it continues,

STAY SAFE XX

Thank you so much for that great update. Budesonide rarely causes allergic reactions such as that, but obviously that's always a possibility. I'm glad you figured it out and posted about it. It's also gratifying to see that you seem to be well on your way to recovery.

Instead of stopping the inflammation, budesonide was apparently perpetuating it. Stopping that inflammation and boosting your immune system with magnesium and vitamin D should be a big help in preventing you from having serious Covid-19 complications, even if you should get the disease. And with a stronger immune system, you should be far less likely to develop Covid-19, also.

Thanks for sharing that helpful information.

It’s always nice to hear a good update on recovery. Learning to control this disease with diet is a challenge, but worth it. Congratulations on your improvement!

Hi Mrs. H,

Thank you for the very kind update from the UK! I am glad you are feeling better. This disease is a challenge but it sounds like you are truly on the upswing.

Stay safe in these Covid times.

Mrs H,

It’s so nice to have some good news, so happy for you. I couldn't take Budesonide, I would sweat profusely. I just did mine the old fashion way, by diet. I learned it all on this board, it’s the GREATEST!!!

So thankful,

thankyou for the replies

im another week into recovery, and still doing ok,

i ate a small piece of chocolate yesterday, that tasted wonderful, maybe something i will try every few weeks, i have added back in chicken eggs, at 1 a week, and am fine with them,

when looking back at my diary i can see about week 7 on budz i began to react to it, with hot sweats, i just didnt join the dots, my sleeping is poor anyway, but became an even bigger problem, so my planned journey off the drug was a little abrupt at week 13, but it did its job, and reduced my very WD, and gave me time to figure out a good diet, and add vit d/k2 and magnesium into my routine,

since starting these i am still headache/migraine free, which since braking my neck 10 years ago i have suffered with almost daily, its amazing,

i have also started my husband on a tablet form of magnesium/vit d,/caLCIUM/ZINC and his stomach issues have also gone after 2 months on the supplement

i have had no help what so ever from any medical specialists, so thankyou for everyones feedback,

i will call in a few weeks once past 8 weeks and let you know how life is

so from the uk, stay safe, xx
