Post by Daba »

I am getting sick of eating boiled chicken, rice, chicken broth, applesauce, and toast every day. What else can I eat the won't get me sicker?

Nausea

Post by Daba »

Why am I most nauseous in the morning? What do people take for the nausea? I took Zofran, and now I'm taking Phenergan. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Virtually no one reacts to lamb or turkey. Also, any type of wild-type meat is safe, such as rabbit, duck, goose, pheasant, quail, emu, venison, etc. The toast may be why you're still in a flare. Many of us cannot tolerate commercial gluten-free bread (or many other baked products) when we're still recovering.

Nausea in the mornings (similar to morning sickness during pregnancy) is a symptom of magnesium deficiency. Have you tried increasing your magnesium intake.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

No, I had no idea about magnesium. What has magnesium in it?

The simplest is an oral supplement, such as magnesium glycinate. Or, you can soak your feet in Epsom salts, or add Epsom salts to your bathwater and soak for 10 or 15 minutes.

Most foods don't contain as much magnesium as they used to due to soil depletion, but in general, dark greens (vegetables) contain a lot of magnesium. Foods in the Mediterranean diet contain a lot of magnesium.
