Hey all! Wanted to give a quick hello - 32 years old here, checking in from rainy Oregon. :)
A little background: after several months of abdominal pain, mucus in stool, and fatigue but no findings from bloodwork, CT scans, ultrasound, etc I finally got to see a GI specialist for a colonoscopy/endoscopy. Initial findings were again, nothing, but then the biopsy results finally arrived and I was diagnosed with Lymphocytic Colitis.
Having no idea what this was, I quickly learned (like many others here, I'm sure) just how few resources exist for information, shared experiences, and advice. However a common thread in the research I've done so far is to check out this forum, and I can already confirm that's excellent advice - so many helpful and informative threads on here!
I'm a week into starting Budesonide and just trying to educate myself as much as possible on this condition. Looking forward to learning more and connecting with folks here. Thanks for reading and all the best!

Hi Matt,
Welcome to the group. This disease is way more complicated, and has a much bigger effect on our lives, than most medical practitioners seem to realize, but they're slowly learning. This forum has existed for over 15 years, so if you can figure out the right keywords, searching the archives will bring up many discussions on just about any topic related to the disease that you can think of.
Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.
And if you get a chance, please send some of that rain down here to Central Texas — the southern half of the state is gettin' mighty dry.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Hi, Matt. Welcome to our group! I credit this group with helping me to find remission and I've been there for 6 years now. As Tex recommended, search the archives and feel free to ask questions! Dealing with this disease is an ongoing learning process. Tex's book listed in the upper right hand corner was a big help to me, too.
