Imdoium Advanced AD gluten free?
Is Imodium Advanced AD gluten and casein free? It comes in a white and purple box. I know Imodium AD is gluten free but I like the kind with the added anti gas med.
Dr Fine test shows positive for gluten and casien but negative for soy, eggs, and yeast
Maybe its UC maybe its MC? Who knows at this point, but at least I know my intollerances now... so heres to the road to healing!

Here are the inactive ingredients in that product:
Caplets: acesulfame K, cellulose, dibasic calcium phosphate, flavor, sodium starch glycolate, stearic acid
Chewable Tablets: cellulose acetate, corn starch, D&C Yellow No. 10, dextrates, FD&C Blue No. 1, flavors, microcrystalline cellulose, polymethacrylates, saccharin sodium, sorbitol, stearic acid, sucrose, tribasic calcium phosphate.
I don't see any gluten or casein derivatives in either form.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Tex I did not see anything either, but there can be hidden stuff. I was seeing if anyone knew for sure off hand but it looks like I might have to call the manufacturer... man I live off of Imodium during tax season! And it would be a shame if I couldnt have it.

A lot of members here use imodium, with good results. I'm not sure if anyone else uses the Advanced AD versioun or not, but they will probably add to this thread, if they do.

I think the Advanced is awesome because it has an anti gas med in it that takes away the cramping that sometimes comes with D.

Andrew,
I'd definitely check with the manufacture. I'm especially suspicious of the dextrates, among others. I've found it hard to find a list of gluten/casein ingredients in meds.
BTW, you won't need the Imodium next tax season!
Love, Jean
