After eliminating irritating foods?

Post by LydiaS »

I have two questions:

1. When we are starting out, how soon after eliminating offending foods should we expect to see D go away, on average?

The reason I ask is because I keep reading about members who have healed but who occasionally eat the wrong thing, get a "flare" with D, but then, when they stop that food, the D subsides within a day or two.

However, a newbie who has figured out and eliminated their offending foods for the first time should not expect to have their D subside in a day or two, right? I am guessing that the reason is that the "flare" in the healed person is much less serious than the inflammation that besets beginners who have had chronic D for a while? So it would take the latter about 2-3 weeks for the latter to see the results of removing offending foods. Can you please correct me if I am wrong?

2. Pharma drugs. Wondering if perhaps there is a place on this form that lists pharma drugs have hidden gluten or soy, etc. My husband is on Telmisartan, Metoprolol, Eliquis, and Flomax. (He's cut out his baby aspirin).

Thanks
Lydia

I don’t have the answer to your question but I would recommend sending a private message to Tex, he’s very fast to respond! For me, I am gf/df/sf for about 1 month will be adding back food in a month to check intolerance (over 3 day eat a little more each day and see what happens regime). Everyone is different but I’m hopeful I can begin putting food back in my diet once my inflammation is healed. Good luck!
