I seem to remember this has been discussed here before but can't find it in the Archives.
I'm in a flare but it seems to be different this time with a thin layer of grease floating on top of the WD.

Sorry that you're having a flare. Fat malabsorption is a very common problem for MC patients. Most of us have fat malabsorption when our MC is flaring. It's due to the poor (incomplete) digestion caused by the inflammation associated with MC
Try searching for "fat malabsorption". You should find hundreds of old posts.
