soy sensitive

I have a soy sensitivity of 12 units on the Entero food test. Do you think I should also avoid peanuts and peanut butter?
And can one heal enough to add our sensitive foods back into our diets at some time?

A reaction to peanuts was what alerted me to my changed soy status. Originally, I tested negative to soy. But after a reaction where my digestion just stopped working (ileus) after eating peanuts one day, I had my soy sensitivity retested, and sure enough, I had become sensitive to soy.

Well, I obviously can't guarantee that you would react to peanuts, but I would be mighty surprised if you didn't. If you're still in recovery, definitely avoid them because if you'e sensitive to them, they will prevent you from ever reaching remission. If you believe that you're an exception, and you're not actually sensitive to legumes, then you can always test them by trial and error after you're in remission. If you're not in remission, you have no way to tell if you're reacting to them (or to something else).

Thanks Tex. I am not in remission as I am currently in a flair caused I believe from eating at a local restaurant who told me what I ordered was gluten free but as soon as I got home I didn't feel well and it's been D time since then. I am avoiding all my sensitivity foods strictly. I am just looking to the future but since soy is a main one for me I will avoid it for sure.

Bummer about the restaurant.

I'd switch to almond butter or cashew butter.

I am sensitive to almonds so I will try cashew butter.
