Hi,
Does anyone know how many pumps of the Ancient Minerals Mag lotion i can safely use everyday?
One full pump is only 40 mg, but i don't want to overdue if not safe to do so.
Thank you,

Hi Jen,

We all have different tolerances on the magnesium oil, but most of us can use a number of pumps several times each day without any problems.

Some medications (such as mesalamine) can cause loss of hair, and MC itself seems to cause it for some of us. Vitamin deficiencies may be a factor. But our hair usually recovers after we stop the medication and/or get the disease under control.

Well, yes, in a way it's poor nutrition, because MC causes poor digestion and limits our ability to absorb nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. But this will pass, as you get the inflammation under control and your gut begins to heal. Your digestion will slowly improve and you'll be able to do a better job of absorbing nutrients as you heal.

In the meantime, the less you eat, the poorer your nutrition will be. Yes, MC compromises our ability to absorb nutrients, but that doesn't mean that we can absorb no nutrients at all. It simply means that we are able to absorb a smaller percentage of them than normal. We still have to eat something, in order to survive, even if it's only soup or broth, or else we will get weaker and weaker, and our general health will continue to decline.

i am trying, tex.
If it weren't for the nausea, i could probably eat more.
Don't want to call the GI as he will say start the Uceris, even though i have no dairrhea or pain. JUST NAUSEA!
The hair loss now is very upsetting esp because it not a result of any medication.
Thanks again Tex

Are you taking a daily antihistamine, and/or a magnesium supplement, in order to try to reduce the nausea?

Hi Tex,
You are right, esp because no dr has a clue why this nausea is so bad.
I am reading your book. In chapter 13 you mention that there are some safe commercial soups available, can you give me the names of them pleae?
Thank you,
Jen

Did I say that? Safe commercial soups are as scarce as hen's teeth. The ones I used were made by Pacific Foods – Chicken & Wild Rice Soup, and Thai Sweet Potato Soup. They're fairly tasty, as I recall, and they come in aseptic packaging, so they'll keep a long time. but the problem with these is that they contain too many ingredients to be safe for someone still reacting. And some of those ingredients are off limits for someone who's not in remission (such as brown rice, onions, etc.) I was in remission when I used them. Until we're in remission, it's much, much safer to make our own safe soups. There are some excellent recipes around.
