6 months update

Post by mrs h »

good morning

today marks 6 months off budesonide, and 1 year since my trouble started,
im doing ok , no WD at all, im still sticking to my safe foods for breakfast and lunch, and for my evening meal i rotate the same meals constantly, i know which will give me wind, which will cause extra bloating, i do not suffer with urgency anymore, and very rarely get gurgles/bubbles inside my belly,

i craved bread a few days ago, so are some, my goodness every mouthful felt wonderful, i had no issues with it, but wont be doing it again, as its not part of my recovery, BUT i actually slept all night through for the first time in a year, how odd,

i am still keeping my dairy of food i eat, symptoms, weight, how i feel ect,

i am still having huge problems with leg swelling, which started the first day i took the heart pills, that started this journey, the cardiologist confirmed the swelling is not heart related, i added 11kg of fluid, i now have about 4kg still to lose, but really struggling with that. it gets worse when i take antihistamine , my body feels much better with antihistamine, but the scales and my fluid legs arnt happy

i think my turning point in this journey looking back was the magnesium and vitd, for years my vit d had been low, id tried every pill going and had reactions, then came on here, and found advice, started magnesium lotion, and vitd3/k2 drops , my vitd levels have gone from 28 to over 100 now,

i had my colonoscopy on 24 dec, diagnosed 4jan 2020, was 50 on the day the uk went into lockdown in march, in a very odd way it took the pressure off, i know my journey is only just starting, but i cant thank you all for coming with me, and giving me advice when i was at my lowest and there was no help in the UK at all,

so stay safe, and be kind, and thankyou xx

Great update. Thank you for taking the time to keep us updated.

The reason why gluten can be so devilishly addictive is because when we digest it, gluteomorpnins (also known as gliadorphins) are formed, and they have the same basic effect on the brain as opioids. They have a relaxing, soothing, feel-good effect on the brain, so that the brain craves them, similar to other narcotics. This is probably why gluten has become one of the most popular items in the human diet, over the years. Some individuals are affected much more intensely than others. And gluteomorphins are surely the reason why some people have so much trouble cutting gluten out of their diet.

While it may be true that leg swelling is not related to your heart issue, that doesn't mean that it's not caused by the medication you're taking for your heart condition. Drugs are the number one cause of problems such as that.

Thanks again for the update.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

thankyou Tex for replying,

i am not on any heart meds and havnt been for just under a year, i refuse all medication right now, i know my reaction to the pills caused massive fluid build up, and then then i was given a diuretic pill which actually caused further fluid build up and the CC , it did not help in the way it should of at all,

ooo thankyou for the info about gluten, that makes sense as to why i would sleep so well, i did enjoy the bread, but its off my radar now, as is tuna still ( which i loved before)

im doing good on veggies now that are well cooked, i can still do small salads, but they do make me windy so there not something i have too much of, im fine with chicken eggs, and i still continue to make most things from scratch and stick to simple foods,

i continue with the mag lotion and vit d drops every other day, and guess what!! only 1 migraine in a whole year.....my goodness, how fabulous is that, im so glad i stumbled across this site, and the support and help you all give,

stay safe over there, xx
