I have searched on this forum and found lots of bits and pieces on this topic, but thought I'd try again. Is there any "generally recognized as safe" turkey brands out there? I am mainly thinking of whole turkey (either frozen breasts or entire bird) rather than ground or sliced lunchmeat. I know sometimes rosemary extract could be derived from soybean oil and possibly a problem (I tested reactive to soy but am having so many problems now it would be hard to suss out if I was actually reacting to such an extract). I see some turkey has "natural flavors" listed; I think I recall seeing that even on the Butterball frozen breasts. Any help would be appreciated. I much prefer lamb, but it is pricey, and having a safe turkey would be helpful.
I am lucky to live in a rural area with farms nearby, so I could get some frozen turkeys this November for $8/lb, but if that is not what is required, I'd jsut as soon save some money if I can.
What turkey to trust?

Hi,
Your best bet is to invest in those fresh farm turkeys and freeze them with nothing injected into them. That is what you are looking for and it can be hard to find in stores if you are truly reacting to most turkeys that you have bought. I have not found any generally safe brands out in the market. If you can rotate your turkey meat that might work for you, if you are unable to purchase from a farmer direct.
Hope this helps..
